Team (Project) Introduction
The Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity manages and enhances the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) which resides on one Oracle M8 Supercluster database and thirteen application servers. Our team provides the technical services required to sustain EDW applications to include Project Management, Data Warehouse Management, Advanced Analytics, Tableau Server Administration/Tableau Desktop Administration, Technical Collaboration Support, Lessons Learned, Executive Orders and Special Projects, Architectural Enhancement, and Cloud Migration. We also provide management, enhancement, integration, implementation, maintenance, modernization, and infrastructure support for EDW applications as well as enhancement and maintenance of business intelligence capabilities and predictive analytics.

Professional Level Information:
An Engineer 3 typically plans and directs research or development work on complex projects, along with engaging various parties in design and development. Costs and recommendations of new components may also involve part of the job scope. Performs multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments within the project and firm. An Engineer 3 oversees the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. An Engineer 3 has broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems. An Engineer 3 has strong technical skills and background, a knack for learning new technologies, and a blend of good problem-solving and innovation needed to resolve a wide variety of technical production challenges.
Functional Job (LCAT) Information:
A Senior Test Engineer must have experience working with developers, end users and organizations to create test plans and test scripts. Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events. experience in creating reports. Tracks problems and reports on errors that are identified. Must have experience with configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing. Must have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialized environments. Must have experience in writing or assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures. Must manage the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $94,990 - 100,000

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and execution of test plans for an Enterprise Data Warehouse project
- Develop and execute test cases to verify the accuracy, completeness, and performance of the data warehouse
- Work closely with the development team to identify and resolve defects quickly and efficiently
- Identify and evaluate new testing tools and technologies
- Mentor and train junior test engineers
- Participate in the development and implementation of test automation frameworks
- Stay up-to-date on the latest data warehouse testing trends and best practices
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on data warehouse testing, or equivalent experience
- Experience with SQL, scripting languages, and test automation frameworks
- Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture, design, and testing principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
