Team (Project) Introduction: 

 9th Way Insignia will work with the Veterans Administration (VA) to support the governance pillar in creating, implementing, and providing support for the necessary requirements and outcomes of the ZTA assessments. 9th Way Insignia will provide iterative updates for pillar use cases while accounting for a risk based and dependency-based priority of capabilities.

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer aligns within 9th Way Insignia as an Engineer 3.  An Engineer 3 typically performs multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments within the project and firm. An Engineer 3 oversees the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.  An Engineer 3 has broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems.  An Engineer 3 has strong technical skills and background, a knack for learning new technologies, and a blend of good problem-solving and innovation needed to resolve a wide variety of technical production challenges.    

Functional Job (LCAT) Information:  

 A Senior Cybersecurity Engineer has extensive IT experience in all aspects of Cyber Security with a vast array of IT systems involving end user as well as enterprise level networks.  Experience in designing and implementing systems that meet agency Cyber Security policy and regulations.  Must have extensive experience in Cyber Security Tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, ZTA and secured networks.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Mature Cyber ZTA capabilities to improve Vulnerability Threat Management capabilities.  

  • Work with privacy data, in order to increase Cloud application and infrastructure vulnerability scanning and reporting. Assist in developing architecture for integrating findings into a centralized dashboard that allows product owners direct access to team’s specific systems or cloud account findings.

  • Provide System Security Engineering Reviews  

  • Provides system engineering and architectural design support services 

Requirements: 

  • 10 Years Experience in Cyber Security  

  • Masters of Science degree (or higher) in one of the following: computer science, electronics engineering, computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or cyber security.   10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.  

Preferred/Desired: 

  • CISSP  

  • GIAC Security Essentials Certification  

  • RMF, CSF, FISMA, and Fedramp  

  • Familiarity with: ZTNA and SASE Framework, ICAM (OKTA), CWPP, SOC Operations, Vulnerability Threat Management, and Compliance

This position is remote

Salary Range:  

The salary range for this position is $96,370 – $113,000

 *9th Way Insignia’s range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.  

Travel: 

Occasional travel to the VA offices may be required
